THE COME MAI? SCHOOL | |

The Come mai? School is based in Triei, a small town 8 kilometres from the centre of Sardinia’s east coast, which boasts one of the loveliest and cleanest seas in the whole of Italy set against the greenery of the Mediterranean forest. You will be captivated by the warmth and hospitality of the island’s people as well as by its natural beauty and historic monuments. All of this means you’ll be able to become completely immersed in Italian language and culture. Moreover, you can’t possibly leave Triei without savouring its delicious genuine cuisine, not to mention its wines, famous since Roman times.
The Come mai? School has spacious comfortable classrooms with modern resources and the material needed for the lessons to run smoothly. There is a well-stocked library, a video library and a large cinema. It also has the facilities and resources needed for different sporting activities so that students can play football, tennis, volleyball, basketball and go mountain-biking, etc.

OUR METHOD |
|
|
Our Courses are based on the communicative approach: a modern interactive effective method where communication is at the focus of learning. It is an entertaining, dynamic method. Each lesson is based on creativity thereby letting the student spontaneously acquire the basic structures of the language: vocabulary, grammar, idiomatic expressions, etc. The student is considered a researcher, who, with the teacher’s help, will manage to penetrate the language, analyse it, understand it and use it. The skills acquired are then put into practice by participating in numerous activities that are carried out in Triei together with its inhabitants. |

LEVELS |
|
|
Our School offers Summer Courses with Italian Courses for all levels. A placement test will be given to decide each student’s level and evaluate their different language skills:
|
• Oral and written comprehension |
|
• Oral and writing skills. |
|
• Knowledge of grammar. |
Arrangements can be done to perform this level test via the Internet by contacting the School directly.
At the end of the Summer Course the School will issue an Attendance Certificate as proof of having completed the Italian Course.

SUMMER COURSE DETAILS |
|
|
Lesson will be taught in the mornings from Monday to Friday. Students will have four 50 minute classes. In the afternoons students will be given another 3/4 hours of Italian to continue their immersion in the language and in the evenings they will take part in the activities organised by Come mai?
|
|
|

Summer Courses in Sardinia are at the same time a total immersion course in the Italian language and a fantastic holiday in one of the most beautiful and wildest regions of Italy. Every participant will see their expectations met to the full: firstly they will be doing a course in Italian that has been carefully prepared right down to the slightest detail in line with the latest and most effective methods. And secondly, they will be setting off on a trip where they will discover Sardinia’s natural beauty and sites of historical and cultural interest; an encounter with the gastronomic traditions of a land between sea and mountains, an opportunity to study Italian which at the same time is a relaxing and fun-filled holiday.

• Transport with driver for activities.
• You can use the public library in the village.
• Lunch every days. .
• A different activity every day: nature, archaeological monuments, the sea, mountains and cuisine will all characterise our days.
• Two full-day excursions: guided tours of museums and monuments and a picnic lunch.
• Local/Italian speaking Monitors/guides during afternoon activities.
• Sampling of typical local produce.
• Use of school sports equipment: bicycles and tennis rackets.
• Full insurance during class time and for activities

• We organize for you the transfer from the airport you arrive until Triei and from Triei until the airport you leave.
(*) The Cultural Journey without Italian’s course includes everything except the Italian course, teaching materials and end-of-course certificate of attendance. Therefore, it requires at least A2 level of the Common European Framework of Languages.

These prices do not include the trip from your departure city to the airport of arrival in Sardinia and lodging.
The school will take charge to find you the accommodation in a single room for a maximun price of € 300. The accommodation will be in shared apartments or family.

SUMMER COURSE: GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS |
|
|
REGISTRATION
|
To register on the course you’ll need to complete the registration form. Registration will become effective on receipt of 60% of the total cost of the course. The registration form must be sent by fax, e-mail or post together with proof of payment. Registration will become effective once the School has received the completed registration form together with proof of payment. The remaining 40% must be paid by the student on arrival at Triei. |
CANCELLING REGISTRATION
|
In the event of a student cancelling their Summer Course registration the full amount will be refunded providing the School is notified of the cancellation at least 30 days before the start of the Course. If cancellation is notified less than 30 days before the start of the Course, no refund whatsoever will be made. |
PAYMENT METHODS
|
Payment may be made by money order, cheque, bank transfer, or payment into the School’s bank account. Any bank or postal charges will be at the course participant’s expense. |
